Introduction to the structure of thermoforming mold
Thermoforming molds are special molding tools that can withstand high temperatures and are used to fix specific thermoplastic materials into specific shapes. It is very different from other plastic molding tools such as compression molding, laminating process, etc. Thermoforming molds are usually composed of mold body, die cushion, motion mechanism, water cooling system and other parts. Their structure mainly includes:
1.Mold body
It is a special cast iron product with good heat resistance and wear resistance. It consists of different shapes, sizes and holes. According to customer requirements, it can be designed to meet specific molding requirements.
2.Die cushion
It is a kind of rubber products that can withstand high temperatures. After careful design, they can effectively provide the inner wall fastness and pressure resistance of plastic parts. There are two ways to install die cushion: hot pressing and pasting. During installation, it should pay attention to prevent the formation of bubbles.
3.Motion mechanism
It is a movable mechanism used to control the specific movement of the mold so that the mold body can be opened and closed. It consists of a variety of components, such as cylinders, hydraulic transmission mechanisms, transmission shafts, hydraulic controllers, etc.
4.Water cooling system
It is an important part of the thermoforming mold, which is used to reduce the mold temperature and prevent the mold from deforming. It consists of a series of cooling heads and water pipes, which are arranged on the mold surface through the cooling heads to control the mold temperature.
The research and development and production technology of thermoforming molds have been greatly developed. It can mass-produce plastic parts of various shapes and has made important contributions to the development of the industry. However, it will meet some problems during mold using, such as mold deformation, uneven mold temperature, and mold aging, which will affect the quality of plastic parts. Therefore, during the production process of thermoforming molds, strict requirements and control should be implemented to reduce and eliminate these problems.
